Gold Coins

Collectors World keeps a small stock of Gold Coins, mainly aimed at collectors, but also for investment purposes. For the collector this includes sovereigns, half sovereigns, guineas, and occasionally foreign gold coins. For the investor we can often obtain sovereigns and Krugerrands, however a quantity of these would not always be available from the shop without prior arrangement.

Investing in gold coins...

Gold has been an excellent investment in recent years, and is expected to remain so for some time. Recently, this has led to high demand and low supply as those with exisiting gold coins are still expecting their investment to do well and so are not keen to sell at present, while new customers are looking for alternative investments opportunities.

Our standard price for bullion gold coin for investment is calculated from the day's gold fix, plus a small handling charge. This is normally in the region of 6%, though can vary depending on supply and demand. Ring us on 0115 928 0347 for today's price and availability. We are keen buyers too, and again our offer is normally based on the day's gold fix, less a handling charge also in the region of 6% depending on supply and demand.

Coins supplied for bullion gold investment are normally sovereigns, half sovereigns, or Krugerrands. Guaranteed genuine, undamaged, dates or types of our choice. Payment on small quantities or by new customers is usually by cash, for larger quantities and regular customers we normally prefer a bank transfer. Earlier Years: We have various types of sovereigns available, from the modern 'bullion' issues (from 2000 to date), through the earlier - George V, Edward VII, Victoria OH & JH, to the Young Head Victoria issues and the early Victorian Shieldback type. A selection is available for inspection at the shop.

The above Sovereign is dated 1887, Victoria's Jubilee year. This was the last year of the Young Head version. This nice example might cost around £275 from Collectors World.
